Which brand of DVD Rs work in the most different brand DVD players? Do DVD+Rs tend to work best with the most players or do DVD-Rs work with more?
Which player brand is compatible with most blank DVD R brands?
I know this is the most basic question and you have all answered it a million times, but I am a total rookie and I just do not know where to get this info?

-Rs are very compatible, they seem to play in all dvd players. I've seen some -Rs NOT play in some PS2s. But if your burner supports booktyping you can burn +Rs into DVD-ROMs. From what I've seen DVD-ROMs play in everything

    Hi BJDJ,

Actually you only have to worry about players of 2yrs of age or older - The newer players play a cheese pizza if the cheese isn't too thick.

If your stand alone dvd player is new i.e. anywhere from 1 - 2 years old, then you shouldn't have to worry much. If it is over 2 or 3 years, then don't even think about backing up dvd movies on any DVD+R media, unless you can change the booktype into DVD-ROM.

Oh yeah... and keep in mind to get quality media such as Fuji, Verbatim, TY, Maxell, Sony, TDK and make sure it says;"Made In Japan or Singapore."

I see so what you're saying is that if a disc is made somewhere else it's no good ?

OR if it's a pirate Verbatim it will say it's made elsewhere ?

Okay.I am using Fast copy 1.0.1to burn back up DVDs I tried to play these (all sorts of media brands in All sorts of DVD players. They only play on my computer but not in any standalone players I have tried.

Some one else made a backup on a Sony blank that played on my player but when I try to use one of the same Sony blanks, it will not player.

I have to think that my version of Fast Copy is bogus or that I need to change some preference. Can someone reccomend a free application that will work with mt Mac G4 using 10.0.3

It looks like you'll have to go there and start a new thread ~

Give them the info, they'll figure it out -

    Good Luck.
