I've just reformatted my hard drive and installed RealPlayer and then installed K-lite codec pack with Media Player Classic (MPC). So I tried playing this rmvb file with MPC and there's video, but no sound. I tried to play the exact same file with RealPlayer, and it works perfectly, video and audio were there. So the questions is... why is MPC stuffing up? Before I reformatted my HD, MPC was working beautifully... Codec issues perhaps? I tried to uninstall K-lite codec pack and then re-install, but no luck... still no sound... any help? :D Cheers!

    Editted:

DO NOT GET REALPLAYER =P I uninstalled both RealPlayer and MPC and then reinstalled MPC again. Then I downloaded RealAlternative (courtesy of AD =D ) and installed that. And BAM! MPC is up and running again! WOOT!

I was at work when I first read your initial post, didn't have time to answer though. I was gonna suggest the exact thing that you did, you got it figured out though:~)!

Before switching to XBMC, I used to play my RMVB videos on my PC with RealAlternative/MPC, I have 100+ videos in this format!
