i am having trouble with media player classic. when i try to play an avi, all i get is the audio. it takes up 90% of my system resources, and i have to end the process using the task manager. i have tried every version from 6.4.0.2 to 6.4.7.8. i am able to play the same files in winamp or regular windows media player. i am on windows xp... help!

Try downloading ffdshow. That might help you with the audio problem.

Sorry. I just realized that if the videos are running correctly on winamp then you must have the correct codecs and therefore ffdshow won't work.
