I need to know what codecs to successfully run media player classic
    version 6.4.8.2.
I also would like to know the site so I can download this codecs so it will run wmv files.

Its not the player that needs codecs to run but the file in which the media is on. I dont really deal to much with wmv files, so I dont know if they use containers or not. There is a program called gspot that you can use to open the file to tell you what codecs you need to play the file. There are also downloads here such as the k-lite media pack that will install the common codecs needed. I however, advise from using community codecs and would only install the codecs you need to run the files you have.

WMV files typically contain WMV and WMA. You can download the codecs from Microsoft's Windows Media site. You only actually need the decoder part for playback though.
