Stay away from Ritek GO5 media!! Buy the Ritek 16x media instead. Why? Well lots of people here have had GO5 media go bad within a year myself included. I had to throw away a lot of GO5 movie DVD's then salvage what data DVD's I could by putting the data on the hard drive then burning it to TY media. So I'll never buy 8x GO5 again no matter what the price!

Christmas of 2005 I got a 50 pack of Memorex that turned out to be 16x Ritek F-1 media. I used them for both DVD movies & data discs. The same data was also burned to TY discs as a precaution however the 16x Ritek seems to be still readable a year later as the 4x Ritek GO4 was. I still prefer Tayio Yuden media though. They are the best single layer around with Verb +R DL just as good.

Wundata? I don't know. Never tried them....

    (possible YUDEN000T03)

    Staples:
    TDK 30/Pack 4.7GB Snap N' Save™ DVD+R - $4.98 +tax w/$5 off $5 coupon (product)

($.18/disc = Good data/video giveaway media. So, spare me from comments about CMC mags and TDK 003 media. This is obviously about the MIJ discs. So, keep your comments limited to the MIJ and with as few "!!!!" as possible, k?)

The person on videohelp was in Germany, where finding TDK branded TY is much more likely. No TDK TYs of any kind, in any form, have been seen in North America for at least a year. However, this doesn't mean I won't be going out to check my local store tomorrow. :)

Sears has Maxell DVD-R 50 packs on sale for $12.99. Find a 8X MIJ 50 pack and you have high quality MXL RG03's. I still see these occasionally at Staples where you can PM for less.

95MAX- great ! I hardly ever see hear or possibly even smell sears putting anything media-wise onsale ! I've had pretty good luck with maxells either their MIJ media & even some of the Maxells /Riteks G-O5'S Narurally I'm gonna jump on the japanese Maxells given a chance ! But given a good sale price I'd take the ritek versions too ! the only problem I've had with those have been on the price - why pay extra for the maxell name when you're getting ritek's anyway ? especially if you can get the same disc ( RITEK G-O5'S ) @ Officedepot under there brand name usually much cheaper - only differing cosmetically - packaging and brand! their 8x dvd-r's of course! will have to check sears out 95MAX! Thanx for yje info! CIAO!
