Just to let anyone know who has a Microcenter near them, I just picked up a 20 pack of Verbatim Dual Layers for $27.99, I don't know how long the sale is though? /Unjust P.S. They also had 10 packs of windata dual layers for $9.99 that said they were made in Hong Kong. I passed on those.

Yujenh- If it helps ! I got a 50pk. of the maxell 16x DVd-R @ Xmas & if memory serves me correctly I think They were Ritek F-1 ? I could Check but I'm leery about Playing Jenga With the Leaning Tower of media Stacked up in the corner ontop of a file cabinet ! if you get my meaning ! For the Five dollar Difference I think I would go with the sony if I were'nt sure on the Maxells Parentage ! thanks Bigtoxy, the sony seem to be a sure thing. the reason i even asked is because someone mentioned to me not all the maxell mit are ritek nowdays. i just want to be sure then sorry to get the cmc mag.
Hello guys, I just checked hte nero dvd info. the maxell +r (mit) came up to be cmc mag 01. so everybody knows to stay away from those.
AngusMcP- Well I agree with you on the Cmc part anyways ! Personally I've always had Pretty good results With ritek But I realise that everyone has different Burners & expectations !!! I generally Try to only Buy Maxell MIj's I'm not a media Snob but If I can get it for the same Price Why not ? Maxell MIJ is Good stuff ( But like Sony & Fuji MIj is almost impossible to Find In quanity anyways !) The best way to Be sure what your getting is Either Buy Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens or One of the MIJ made Branded media's mentioned above - but also be Aware That There are also MIJ sony's that Code out Sony and Not Taiyo Yuden like they should ! These are Genuine Sony's not Bootleg or counterfit ! and are atleast as good as if not Better than Taiwan Made Sony's Though I would'nt put them in the same Class as Taiyo yuden or Verbatim Media ! In the end it's a personal choice I suppose ! you use what works well for you, What your Burner likes and what you prefer ! So that's a wrap ! Good luck AngusMcP- And happy Burning !!!!
i think it was saugmon pointed out that mit maxell is the cmc mag. well, bigtoxy, the mij maxell is so rare now days its almost impossible to find. i think almost all of the mij media (sony, fuji) is hard to find. i really wonder how much cheaper or how much more profit maxell made by swithing to cmcmag.
I have a few stacks of Maxell's and they came up as Prodisc. They seem to be fine. But I'm gonna stick with Sony's and Verbs
I picked up one of those 100 count Sony -R from BestBuy. They coded out as 16D1, so I guess that was decent.
well, the prodisc are on the same level as the cmc mag, just ask anybody in this forum. good luck with them.
