hi all, i have got a fuji finepix a202 and i have taken 3 photographs all in the same position but at diffent quality settings
    1.2m fine
    2.1m normal
    3.0.3m
all the photos come out the same, in fact the lowest quality photo looks just as good as the 2m photo.
i cant see why why there is such a focus on the megapixals of a camera if you cant tell any diffence in pic quality.
my camera is not high end by any means but it takes a great photo and i would not spend hundereds on these 7.1 m cameras that i see avertised.
anyone got any comments on pixal quality???
    dark. :)

    What size enlargement are you looking at? 3X, 4X, 6X, 8X, 11X ?

Are you planning to print any images. If so what sizes. pixels will definately make a huge difference there.

were you looking at those pictures on your computer monitor or did you print them out? A computer monitor at 1024x768 can't even display at a resolution of 1 megapixel, so all of them will look pretty much the same on it.

Going from 1.0 MP to 3.0 MP is a big when you print them out to 4x6. Although if the optics of the camera are bad, more resolution won't help you.

Anything above 3 MP is good enough to print 4x6 pictures. The camera's quality and the sensor's quality are really what differenciates cameras.
