anyone else having a problem backing up this film? At 1st dvd decrypter had an error. It had been a while since I updated either anydvd or dvdRB. I updated anydvd and decrypter worked. Even after updating RB to 1.09.2 it still failed. I closed it before I thought to write down the error. It had something to do with file size difference. If decrypter worked I could use a DLdvd but I don't know if the film is worth it. This is the 1st real problem I've had with RB all my other problems were because of my burner

Used anydvd>dvddecrypter>DVDrb and just for the heck of it D/L with no problems. If you can't get it to your HD then it might be the dvd itself.

DVDFabdecrypter is free and ripped the film easilyy, then shrunk with cloneDVD2 or Nero Recode2.

no offense, but (don't you alway's hate it when a post starts this way) we support dvd-rebuilder in the dvdrebuilder forum :)

it's not that anyone has anything against recode 2 or clonedvd there great apps but personally if I wanted to know about them I sould post about it in the respective forum.. "one click" or if I wanted to know which to use I would put it in "newbie"

but assuredly if I wanted support using rebuilder this would be the place, sorry I'm not meaning to be the "blivetNC police" but this is really not helpful. just spouting opinions.

thnx for reading my little rant and hope it makes sense, this is a trend here that noone seems to realize is harmful to the forum.

btw I love the sig :)

no offense taken, Just suggesting an alternative,Heck there is more than one way to skin a cat. I use most of the previously mentioned programs and don't have a problem with any of them, I Guess I'm just partial to the sheep since I've been using CloneCD since 2000 when I first got a CD burner.
Unfortunately it sometimes seems to me that people are trying to rip a defective DVD and blame it on the program and/or computer.

first let me compliment you on your level headedness (Ihope that's a word ) you don't know how many members would have taken that the wrong way kudos!

well partiality is in some respects welcome (say politics) I myself love rebuilder. but use countless prog's for experimental purposes.

I think the forum has a lot of members posting stuff that need not be and makes it hard to actually find what one (especially a newb) is looking for. sorry if it seems that I singled you out. but it's like the plague.

I just hope this get's read by a couple uhh thousand of the members here and maybe set's in.

ok that's OT as anything but maybe it'll help!?!

My only gripe is that people don't use the search function, Can't recall how many threads were started over Madagascar, Hitch and any other movie which had a different protection built in, that's why I like different programs, they haven't yet come out with a single protection scheme that defeats all of the ripping programs at the same time, so if one hasn't updated, go to another until one works.
Besides, if no one ever dissented and tried something new, we would all be sitting in caves beating rocks and sticks to gether to make fire.

    Peace.

I did search and everyone I read was someone who used some other program to compress the film. The only program I use if compression is needed is dvdrb. If I can help it.
When I posted this I was hoping to get a response from someone who used RB successfully on this film

I have tried ripping by using

    DVDDecryptor and DVDFab Decryptor.

It still has an issue with the first VOB file.

    HELP!

More than likely you got a bad press. BTW I have started using the rip to hdd feature in anydvd almost exclusively as my ripper. No problems with it whatsoever.
