I'm having problems with my memorex dvd burner. In itunes it says: The attempt to burn the disc failed. An unkown error occured. (4480). And in Roxio is says illegal operation performed and doesn't work. I called memorex and they didn't even ask me what the problem was, they just said they'll send me a new one. So I guess their drives must crap out a lot if they just offer to send me a new one and don't even ask what is wrong. I want to know though, if there is anyway to fix this without sending it in because I can't wait like 2 weeks to get a new dvd burner.
check this out .... i had an issue with my memorex 16x dual layer also....it kept just crapping out in the middle of a burn with some error message....so i call memorex tech support as well... they didn't hardly ask me any questions at all i just told them what my error message was reading, and they right away came to the conclusion that the drive is bad. well after talking to some friends of mine, they seemed to think that i had software conflicts.....at that time i was running roxio, and nero.....i simply went home and uninstalled roxio, and now i have no more problems at all.....drive is working perfectly!! so i am just saying, maybe try a second opinon before sending drive back. good luck!
