Perfect - heading to Walmart on Tuesday to pick up supplies for a trip to Sequoia on Thursday! I'll check out the verbatims then! Thanks saugmon!

As for scubabud - I guess all "scubas" on this board are just naturally helpful! ;-)

    Happy burning to you all!

    Love, Jen

Shall we consider this the end to of the thread, or do we feel that movies27 will give a final rebuttal?

I asked movies27 a couple weeks ago on what codes he had.
Must be some sort of "double secret" expiramental-hybrid-superduper dvd.Maybe they are the real/genuine : CMC.CRAPMAG.AE69.

Well, popped over to BestBuy and ended up out the door with a 25 spindle of Verbatim from Taiwan and a 25 spindle of the Fuji from Japan. I burned Napoleon Dynamite to a Verbatim DVD and watched the first half hour - not a jump or skip in sight, and there was even a noticeable improvement in the quality of the movie - Memorex was a bit grainy IMO. Can't wait to try out the Fuji, although I'm pretty confident I will be satisfied with them as well!

So thanks to all of you, and especially wolfniggr, saugmon and scubabud! Now that I have the media angle of it sorted out, I think I'm good to go - but I'll hang around and see what else I can learn and share whatever info I've picked up!

    THANKS!!! Jen

You can take that to the Bank Jim!!!

Saugmon, you know you’re A++OK here as well!

Jen, let’s not forget wolfniggr and andmerr for their input as well, especially since they are always right there to help anyone with a concern or question. That article posted by andmerr and written by Pete will always stick in my brain. Thank god it’s a small article huh? <G>

And thank you also Jen for your input and again best of luck with your burns.

By the way, are the media codes what Saugmon and Jim mentioned earlier? I think I’m going to try out the YUDEN000 media if that’s what it shows as. They are rated at 16X for my burner. The MCCRG20 is rated at 12X for my burner. So much to choose from now!!!!

That is cause you can't back up the many posts that you jump in defending those piece o' crap CMC (f)mags. Everytime someone suggests that the CRC error might be those things you jump in a say no way. I know your full of it. Why don't you let that garbage go? Do you work at memorex?

    You said in another post:
    Then this:
So why then do you say this:
This is my fave thread cause it looks like you finally tried to stop BSing. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/161107

    @ jacsac :

    Now play nice young man!!!!!

It really does i suppose come down to what each person is comfortable with.I personally have had no luck with memorex discs ever and people say that princo discs are the same but for a long time i didnt have an issue with them.
Now i'm using the ritek ridatas and ty discs.

Yes Memorex do work fine for me but I use Fuji sometimes too...there are thousands of people that use Memorex...they're the top seller in the stores here..so a lot of people evidently don't have a problem with them..

Here is just one more opinion based on fact for anyone interested on previous Memorex and PRINCO media experiences:

Burns from over a year ago, now have playback errors, (skips, jumps, pixilation,) and are media code ProdiscS03 and PRINCO. The PRINCO media was DVD-R 2X-1X bargain brand from CompUSA and the ProdiscS03 are Memorex DVD-R 4X. That media, ProdiscS03 has only been out since around September of 2003 or about 1 1/2 years. Most of the errors are happening now towards the end of the disk, just after the 3.1 mark, and way before the end of the disk or the 4.3 mark.

All these burns seemed "FINE" when they were first burned except for one thing. They have playback problems on some Players and DVD-ROM drives.

I was one of those thousands of people that did purchase Memorex, but the key word here is "WAS"!

One question I would like to ask is why doesn’t any aD Addict state proudly that Memorex is great media? How about we go down that line and ask that same question until we find where one might say Halleluiah for Memorex? Better yet I think I might start a thread with that title and see what we get for results, what do you think? :)

It will be on the label and on the discs themselves.
