    Well here in USA they are garbage. That is based on expierence. They play some days. Others days...well they take the day off. I have the 300 model. It plays nothing whatsoever.

    These quotes are from ScubaPete, not me, but I felt they might also shed some light here:

    Another quote from ScubaPete from a thread on 3-20-2005, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/170986#902984

    This is a scan I did of Memorex Media shown below;

    Memorex DVD-R 4X "ProsdiscS03" after running through DVDInfoPro. The Red dots are not X-Mas decorations on a green tree, but errors on the disk. :)

    [IMG]

    Here is a scan I did of Sony Media to use as an after picture of what it should have looked like. This burn was done at 16X by the way!

    [IMG]

    And the bottom line here is that the Sony Media was purchased from CompUSA on sale for $39.99 for a l00 cake box, or 42.6 cents per disc after tax. So my point is, why bother with any media that MIGHT give you problems, when you can have for the same price, a better quality media, wether its Fuji, Verbatim, Sony, or TY’s for that matter.

    Curious...reburn at 4x and see what happens. Burning 4x media at 16x is not going to work so well.

    nohelpme, this is what I stated before:

    As I stated above, the [bold]Sony Media[/bold] was burned at 16X.

    The Memorex was burned at 4X since your burner's firmware is what sets the max speed for the media and this media is set to a max at 1X-2X-4X. Also look at the Burner info in the DVDInfoPro scan of this Memorex test and see what it says for the burner, [bold]Generic DVD RW 4X MAX[/bold]

    The CMC Mag discs are the ones that usually will go bad after about 6 months even if they burn good. They sometimes won't let you recopy them either. As stated before its not all Memorex that are bad but you can't trust what you will end up with. The media that is known to be excellent doesn't cost that much more so why take a chance that your backups won't work 6 months from now. Everyone to their own taste.

    What do you pay for your Memorex DVD's, if I may ask, and have you done a DVDInfoPro Scan of a burned disk from a while ago to see if it is still OK? Maybe you could post it here also. :)

    @ScubaBud,

    Well, before I got it at Staples for like $26, but they were on sale, THEN, I went to Circuit City, where it is selling for like around $40. So, unless they are on sale, I will still be going to Circuit City.

    [/quote]and have you done a DVDInfoPro Scan of a burned disk from a while ago to see if it is still OK?[/quote]

    Nope...but I will...for everyone to see, but can't locate the program that is associated on the site that is on your pic that you have on your post.

    Can you tell me the link?

    Most definately...I don't mind, cause I would like to know, since I am interested in knowing this info too.

    :)

    @ScubaBud...

    Thanks for the link...give me a couple of minutes, and I will post my results. I have a dvd that I made almost a year ago, so that will be my guinea pig!

    Too funny... :)

    That was for only a 50pk. I would have gone the whole 100 but never do.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    Ok...quick update...LOL!

    I didn't know it was going to take this long...thought it was going to be quick.

    Hey all,

    Just got the results back in from the DVDInfoPro.

    Now, I scanned a dvd that I made in July of 2004, not much to say about it, but it is almost been a year. This dvd is the Quick and the Dead (not that it matters) and was burned on Memorex media (just like the ones in my previous post), and here is what I got:

    Here you go, ScubaBud, as promised. :)

    Thanks...I got them all at the same place, well, let me rephrase that, this set came from Staples near me.

    My more recent dvds from this year and part of last year, came from Circuit City.

    What I will do next is post one that I just burned 4 days ago, and this set would have came from Circuit City, but check back here, cause I will post it as soon as I am done.

    ;)

    @nohelpme

    Make sure the screen that you want to take a pic of is active, no other screen should be active.

    The command is:

    ALT + Print Screen (Gotta thank Taz for this one)

    Then go into any paint program and paste it in there, save it, then there you go!

    ;)

    Good job and nice burn on that one. It's the exact same media as the one I posted with all the errors. I also have good ones from a year ago along with the bad. That seems to be part of the problem plus they don't play on some DVD-ROM players and Portable DVD Players. But if you guys like to pay more for them and love them that much, then go ahead! LOL

    Different subject now. The bmp file you loaded is over a million bytes, 1,274,686 total. I would take that same image and save it as a jpg or redo it and post a smaller one here. People with dial up modems will be here forever downloading this page. :)

    Will do! LOL!

    I totally forgot about that...shame on me for thinking that everyone had hi-speed internet.

    Sorry folks! :)

    Almost done with my more recent one.

    --------------------------------------------------

    BTW, I changed the format so it is in .jpg.

    :)
