memory cards

    hi guys ! can anyone give me any advice, is it possible for my son to play ps1 games on hes ps2 console and save hes progress through the game, so he doesnt have to leave it switched on all the time..thank you and christmas wishes to everyone!!

    you need an original ps1 memory card. the ps2 uses kb's instead of the block system used in the ps1.

    ive tried using a ps1 memory card but it just says memory card not inserted... can the card be formatted ...

    Yes, but I think the problem might be related to the slot...the memory cards & slots tend to "wear out" over time. A quick-fix is to cut a rectangle from a sheet of printer paper, fold it into a square, and slide the square in between the memory card and the top of the memory card slot. If this does not work, fold it again and slide it back in. It should be so tight that it would be difficult to remove the card with the paper still inserted.

    well mate i tried it and it woudnt work! i tried 2 different ps1 memory crds with the paper and still comes up card not inserted!!! the ps2 card works no problem!! but cant save progress when he plays ps1 games !!!!
