If your only gonna o.c to 2.2 then ddr333( default speed 333mhz 2 x 166) is ok, but if you want to go any higher then ddr400 will be needed..... your 2.2Ghz is a FSB of 175 so therefore your ram (ddr333) is also clocked by the FSB, it's only an increase of 17mhz which the cpu can handle but if your using generic ram it may not be able to handle a higher FSB and won't be stable.
If you were to use ddr400 ram which has a default speed of 400mhz(2 x 200mhz altough it will show up as 333mhz @ stock 2800 speeds) is more suitable for overclocking as most of us who o.c the 2800+ can obtain a 200 FSB = 2.5Ghz but run @ 2.4 - 2.45Ghz with the FSB @ 191-195 which is within the ddr400 FSB of 200 ...... you could run your 2800+ @ an FSB of 175 & alter the cpu/dram FSB ratio to allow the ram to run @ 420mhz but only if your mobo allows it and you have a decent pair of matched ddr400 ram modules

Yeah you will be able to get a higher o.c but you will also need to increase the volts to the cpu , also your gonna need some decent cooling for your 2800+ as they run kinda hot when you o.c them .... i have mine running with the fsb @ 191 which = 2.4Ghz & the v.core @ 1.8v ....
Check this link out for info on overclocking the 2800+ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/101705 it was a great thread and i found it very useful when i started to o.c , justa shame it got closed down :(
