My dell 8400 has two gigs of memory. The first gig are two 512s from Dell, and the second two are cheaper store bought 512s from Microcenter

The computer gets to around a gig of memory usage and starts running really slowly

It could be because I may of needed dual channel memory; would it significally matter if half of the memory is dual channel and half isnt?

Or is the computer specifically running crappy because of some other problem?
