i am new to the site, so sorry if this is an old topic, writing in a hurry. i recently got an xbox and without a warranty. it sucks i know. i am sending it in to microsoft to get the new warranty and to get it fixed but i am currently in the middle of kotorII, and i dont want to lose my saves. i have a memory card but the saves are too big to fit on the card, what are my options so my saves dont get wiped? thanks for any help at all. nick
the problem is that i keep getting the "Unable to read disc, please make sure it is an xbox game, dvd, or audio cd, or that the disc is not dirty or damaged. i bought a disc cleaner and that pretty much put the finishing touches on the drive. i think it is just the dvd drive, but i dont want to waste the 40 bucks on a new drive and that not be the problem. the warranty went out in 2002, that i found out from 18004myxbox, but since i got from where i did, there is no guarantee. so for $80 i get a fresh 90 day warranty, and a guarantee it will be in new working order. i just hope they dont wipe the memory.
Yea i don't think they will....Because it is on your HDD now if they are giving you a new xbox than it will be erased
you would have to mod the xbox with a softmod. then you would be able to FTP (transfer) you game save file from the xbox HDD to your PC. Then unmod it to sent it to Microsoft. then when you got a new one you would have to softmod it and FTP the game saves into the new HDD Read up on softmodding because most people do this because it will open up a whole new world of things your able to do with the Xbox
what other sorts of things can be achieved by softmodding??? i was curious, and was going to look into it, but maybe you can give me a lamens version.
What is the path of the game saves? I have some on my Xbox HDD and they all won't fit on my memory card. I want to transfer them to the PC. I have a modded Xbox & Flash FXP. Can I transfer them straigth from the memory card to the PC or do they have to be on the Xbox HDD?
