I'm gettin' a "reconnect controller and press start" error, even though it's plugged in and works with other games.

Anyone knows why or get the same problem? Annoying, as I at last got the game to get pass the loading screen useing the patch.

Alright tried the patch a couple times now. The .iso file I end up with is DRK-MRC.ISO, but it is exactly the same size as the original... I thought it was suppose to reduce the size.

I know the patch is running, it takes about 30 minutes, runs through all the processes without throwing an error.

Any ideas?? Or is this actually the proper size, 4.56GB

Think it's the proper size, couse my file also ended up with the excact same size, and this iso work (except the controller-thing i mentioned). The main problem with loading screen crash disappears...

yeah thats correct, just burn the new image and your set.. ok guys and girls after all the trouble trying to backup this game, i finally got it.... it was my media. i was using beall 4x dvd-r. they work great for my movies and my kids ps2 games, but when it comes to games like merc. and gta san andreas you need some quality stuff. i went to compusa and brought 25 tdk 8x dvd+r's. they work great. on the first burn it copied merc with no problem. not a single glitch. word to the wise, get good media, tdk, vertibam etc... because you will end up paying more in the long run... thanks to everyone that helped me out in this thread...

I'm getting that same 16 bit error. Anyone got a clue why some of us are getting this error.

Ok, to do the fix for the 16 bit error, are they talking about inserting the Windows CD? Or are you supposed to use the path of the patching program?
