    i have spent days trying to ftp to my xbox no such luck

    MY xbox is set up
    static = yes
    IP=192.168.100.10 also tryed x.x.1.1
    submask=255.255.255.0
    D gateway=192.168.100.17 and many others, and also left this blank

    on the pc side
    IP=192.168.100.17
    submask=255.255.255.0
    d gateway=192.168.100.10 using flash fxp username=xbox password=xbox
    using just the xbox hook in to my nic by a crossover cable. no firewall runing windows or zone alarm. i think it might be from windows xp pro! but idon't know
    box ver 1.5, x2.3 pro, build 3921 oh and i'm also sure my nic on the box works

    the pc ip needs to be the same for xbox and pc all but the last set of numbers ex. (xbox ip = 192.168.100.10, then set the pc ip to 192.168.100.14)

    the default gateway needs to be the exact same for xbox and pc

    your subnet is correct

    try that it should work

    I think the PC IP you are refering to is the internal ip. I have xp pro and I have no problem. Im assuming that you have evox as your dashboard. you might need to go to your system settings and enable FTP.

    1. go to network options in the control panel, tcp/ip, right click and select properties.
    2. IP should be set to whatever you want, I use 192.168.1.100
    3. Subnet mask should be left alone (255.255.255.0)
    4. your xbox looks good as far as settings go, but I use a simpler IP (192.168.1.2)
    5. like andres says, the default gateway should be the xbox IP.

    you should be fine, but the best thing for you to do is not pay attention to my suggestion and just go here --> http://dwl.xbox-scene.net/~xbox/xbox-scene/tutorials/Networking_the_xbox.pdf
    this guide is everything you need to know about networking your box. trust me, it is a one stop guide for networking.
