    Hi all,

My cousin wants to re-purpose her old Macbook 3rd generation laptop as a HTPC. The problem is that the only port I can access on her TV is the side-accessible HDMI port; she won't let anyone remove it from the wall -- not even professionals -- because she's worried it might get damaged.

This means that I need to find her some sort of adapter/box that will let me merge the Macbook's video and audio together into HDMI

The Macbook has a Mini-DVI port. There are adapters available that will convert Mini-DVI to either DVI or HDMI video.

Audio could come from either the headphone jack or a USB audio adapter.

Is there something that would let me merge DVI or HDMI with the audio sources? I've searched the forums to no avail.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Phil

Apparently the headphone audio jack can do analog or digital audio.
