message info bubble from tool bar

    hi all i got an new laptop with xp home ed but the message info bubble from tool bar is not visable i can hear it opening and also the tool bar comes into view but no message bubble i have tryed respawn the system then reinstalling xp today in the hope this would sort it but to no joy i have also looked throught my video card software management but again no joy does anyone have any idears on how to get this going any help would be great

    Here is my idea. Disregard if it does not work.

    I believe that by default the Task Bar uses an "Auto-Hide" function. That is, icons you are not currently using will be hidden from view. Then, there is a tag like thing on the left of those icons where you can show the 'hidden' ones. This is only a temporary showing. They will revert to hidden after a short period of time.

    SO, click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, and finall the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties button. Uncheck the box labeled "Auto-hide the Taskbar". If the message bubble you want to see is being autohidden, this might help.

    If not, I have no other idea.

    thanks mate but it just show's the hidden taskbar icon's still no joy with the message bubble thanks again
