Metroid 3 + WiiBrickBlocker

Can u use the WiiBrickBlocker to stop the 3.0 update and still play the game or will it not alow u start the game without 3.0...

Just seeing if anyone has tried this! let me know

 

i don't believe that you will have to update in order to play this game but we will see haven't tested it yet

 

im not sure. my wii's already updated so it worked fine.

HOWEVER, has anyone else been experiencing weird audio issues with this game? sometimes the music in the game sounds like it's skipping. and sometimes there are loading issues with the map screen. is it just me?

 

- You must have firmware 3.0E or above already installed before running this game. Using a lower firmware will result in your Wii being bricked.

- Using Wii Brick Blocker will make the game non-functional.

- The game updates your system somehow. Fine for NTSC users but PAL users will get duplicate News & Weather channels that can not be deleted. Use caution!

Ive updated 3 Wii's, 2 with the official key and 1 with a clone and guess what... NOTHING HAPPENED! WoW! So I cant use the setup disk? Big whooptie doo! You dont need it once you config everything!

Hey I'm not worried about updating, I'd actually like it if the disc comes with it and does no harm updating from the game. I just don't have a router at the moment and haven't gone online with my wii yet, only had it for about 2 weeks. Just curious if it's cool to put the game in and update that way if it's already on the game.

 

So my usa ntsc wii 3.0U will work fine with the update as well right?

 

Oh dude my comments were directed directly towards you. I was talking about all the ppl who ask like a million times the same question. As for the game update, I wouldnt know. I updated mine via net. But I am assuming it wouldnt cause any problems cause the update updates the firm ware. has nothing to do with the DVD rom!

moscheddr - if you have already updated your Wii, the update on the game wont affect your Wii cause its already updated right! So it would just skip over it!

Your being retarded.... fear of updating is completely rational. the possibility of being banned and or having your mod chip not work is reason enough to not update. Just because this update doesnt change anything doesnt mean i want to update it. i would like to be able to use my setup disk. So if your not woried about it good but i am. sooner or later there gonna ban/disable modchip'd systems microsoft did it what makes u think nintento cant or wont? dotn geta all high and mighty.

 

You can still use the Wiikey set up disc if your at 3.0 firmware. You will need to boot a GCoS boot disc first then swap it with the Wiikey set up disc.

 

So theres really no need for brickblocker then, just make sure the wii is updated fully? same as paper mario?

US Wii. Theres no 3.0 update on disc but there is some sort of an update that is installed which then after Metroid is playable.

 

It is best to use Wii brick Blocker on all Import backups if you can use it on the game disc. it is just added insurance that you will protect your Wii from a region brick issue.

I edited out the Metroid Prime 3 information because it seems it wasn't a 3.0U firmware on it. There have been multiple post stating that after the update they are still at 2.2U firmware.

But what I did agree with you on is people asking the same questions over and over again. Sorry must have edited that out with the other information i edited out.

 

Now I am going to ask the same question, what is the Metroid update really about? I have wiikey installed and I want to make sure I don't brick this thing with this metroid update. This thread is a bit confusing, some are fussing about that they should update, some say with wiikey it WON'T brick it, can I get some more definitive or first hand experience please? Thanks.

If you are playing ANY import game, have your Wii on the latest firmware and use Brick Blocker on the disk!

 

Here we go:

Metroid Prime 3 has an update on it, which is not a Firmware update as such, but it will update your Wii - and Brick PAL Wii's.

So, Here's the deal.

You need to burn 2 disks to get this to work.

1) Use RegionFrii on it
2) User RegionFrii and Brick Blocker on it.

Then you boot firsly with disk 1), this will do the update required to play the game. You need to power off your Wii after 10 secs, or you will Brick it. Next you just need to play with Disk 2) as usual, but your Wii will probably be partially bricked.

 

Yeah I have an NTSC wii and I never have updated the firmware so i believe its still 2.2u, I read other threads and other boards and people are claiming that everything should be ok with updating with MP3, hope so hehe.
