We will get to see the size after it has been ripped to a torrent site and somehow i don't think it will be over 50gb, I may be wrong but it's just a hunch!

Iwillgetu i dont know about that,ok if you stripped it down so that there are no cut scenes you would probably fit it on a single layer disc, but then there would be no point in playing the game.

It can't even fit on Dual Layer Blu-Rays?!

If only the PS3 could read the new Quad Layer Blurays.

I wonder if we can fix this with a simple firmware update..?

    GJ reading guys........

In an interview, Kojima explained that his team had to compress many elements of Metal Gear Solid 4 to make it fit in the disc. While they managed to squeeze the game into Blu-ray, Kojima said the quality could have been better if there was more capacity to work with.

Well this is ridiculous. They knew the limitations of Disc size, who the hell was project manager for this.
    They should be sacked.

They should just use 2 BD disc... one for installation and one for game play. Kinda like how DMC4 requires the 5 gigs of HD space.

Or have to be downloadable.... which ever is easier. Or just have the game on 2 BD I dont think its that bad. MGS on PS1 was multiple disc.

This would equal like 4 or 5 DVDs for the 360...

That is hard to believe that Kojima could fill up a BD disc.In a sense if the video is in High Def uncompressed then yeah it is possible.I have a feeling the compression is going to be with the video source, and uses a driver that uncompresses it.When I look back at PS2 games they used a compression technique for the video source. It is hard to believe developers are filling up BD discs, but if alot of stuff is uncompressed it isn't that hard to believe. The amount of videos and audio files in games could easily fill up a BD disc if uncompressed. One of the videos in God of War uncompressed took up almost a Gig of space, and this was for the PS2.The same could apply to this game since Metal Gear 2 and 3 used a compression technique for the videos.I would rather they leave it uncompressed as well, but I have a feeling the videos in the game could be a target. The videos are probably the main reason Kojima needs more room to store on a BD,and the audio does take up some space as well. When it comes to the videos though such as video sync with different languages can lead to a problem as he mentioned. He could release the game for different regions instead of trying to make it region free, and the problem would be solved.

I agree that it would've been fine if it was on two discs. MGS1 for the PSX was like that.
