Hi i'm pretty new to the DS homebrew scene, this is pretty long winded, i apologise if you get bored, any help would be greatly appreciated. I recently got the superard lite miro sd version along with the passard 3 for my DS lite running the firmware it came with. I also purchased a 1gb SanDisk Ultra II micro sd card. When i recieved the card I put a few backup nds roms on and everything worked fine for a few days until I tried to use the micro sd in my pc's card reader again, upon putting it into the card reader an autoplay window pops up and dissappears again and then when i try and access the reader through explorer i get an error message saying the "request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". At first i though maybe it was my card reader so i bought a usb one but that couldn't read the card either, however my DS can still read from the card. I thought about sending the card back to SanDisk but have thrown all the original packaging away. In the last week i purchased another micro sd card of the same make and size. Upon recieving it i tried to put moonshell on it along with a couple of episodes of prison break i'd encoded which i suceeded in doing with my pc's original card reader however after putting the new micro sd into my DS and then back into my pc's card reader my pc is once again unable to read the new card yet the DS still can. Hope this makes sense. If anyone can suggest anything or has had similar problems it'd be great to hear from you. Thanks.
Your reader device just may need to be updated. Look to see if you can get any new updates for the reader. See if that works.
Thanks for your reply DavGerm4 I've tried updating the driver of my card reader and its made no difference, the card reader can read other cards just not the ones I've used with my DS. This may be a stupid question but would it effect the card if i had just puuled it straight out of the reader without using the eject option in windows? The card protrudes by about half a centimetre when it is inserted so i assumed once it had finished transferring files i would be able to just pull it out.
I don't think that would hurt it. I have a card reader that just plugs in the USB port, and then I just put my SD card into it, and today I just pulled it out, but it still is readable in both. I really don't know what your problem is. I will have to research on this to see what's up.
Thanks DavGerm4. On a related note does anybody know if i were to try and return the micro sd cards to SanDisk, would mentioning that they'd been used with DS and supercard void any type of returns policy or warranty/gaurantee?
