Hey, Im having a problem with recieving mail with outlook, im not sure if its because its trying to recieve mail thats 2.75MB. The message is Task 'mail.optusnet.com.au - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Does anyone know how to fix this?
Have u gone over ur download limit, r u speed capped???? I get this message everytime I go over my limit. In ur Internet Options u can change u length of time to wait from 60 seconds to whatever i changed mine from 60 to 300 seconds but still when i went over my limit i had the message. not alot of help but a little bit maybe
Ok, i am speed capped if i go over d/l limit i get speed reduced, but yesterday it would recieve mail, same with this morning.
okay now i stuck thought my 2 cents would help abit but hey its all good. honestly I not too sure now. my problem was the speed cap. U could try the seconds thing under internet options maybe that might help
here goes try this and c Increase the length for server time-outs On the Tools menu, click Accounts. Select the account, and then click Properties. On the Advanced tab, in the Server Timeouts area, move the slider to the right. Did this fix the problem? Yes. Close the troubleshooter. No. I want to try other troubleshooting options.
have a look in the help tab on ur email this is where i got the last post from.... opened help then clicked on troubleshooter and then clicked can connect but cannot download blah blah this is what it gave me if it dont help have a look @ where i said and c what u can do hope it works
Woohoo its working, i did the thin you said but it still wouldnt revcieve all the mail because the big ones were blocking the way So i fiddled with settings and found one that blocks messages over a certain size so i put in 150kb and they all came thru, thanks for your help
