on the newer version of publisher that you made this file with, when you save it, scroll through the file type options. there should be a option you can select so it saves it as an older version of the file so that you can open it with older versions of publisher.
I just open my version of publisher (2002 version) and when you go file>save as, click the "save as type" pulldown menu, and there should be an option for "Publisher 2000 files", so select that option, save it, then you should be able to open it with Publisher 2000 at your house...
