Just out of curiosity forum users how many people who have purchased a one console have ran into issues already? I have just had to send my step sons kinect unit back to Frankfurt due to no power issues and unresponsiveness.I think in reference to the last gen consoles we all have a little deja vu.Having scoured the net for possible fixes the vast majority have to come to the conclusion the units need to be replaced.I think its disgraceful that a console and its peripherals which cost the same as a mid range pc should fail in such a short space of time.No doubt i will get a 1 months gold membership card for my troubles which is pretty much useless.Has anybody else come across hardware failure related to the xbox one?
I have read online that the drives can become faulty and stop reading disks. It's still better than the hardware problems the PS4 has, just google for Blue Light of Death.
This is ridiculous.. google'd "blue light of death" and one of many solutions is this : "The specific cause of this error is currently unclear, although Sony has acknowledged in a troubleshooting guide that the problems could lie with TV compatibility, issues with the PS4 power supply, issues with the PS4 hard drive, or issues with other PS4 hardware. " Talk about a guessing game ! Neither console should suffer malfunction.I know your big fan of Sony gaming systems Eisherz and sometimes it becomes more of a necessity to purchase close to release dates, but if companies like Sony and Microsoft keep pushing out half tested systems patience will start to run thin.
I am not that much of a fan of Sony systems (so far I do not own a PS4, but I have an Xbox One). I just follow the problems they have, because I thought of buying a PS4. Personally I did not buy close to release date, mainly because Sony never managed to get the YLOD issue under control on the PS3s, even the PS3 slim seems to have that malfunction and the PS3 superslims are just rubbish (problems with PSU, drive, GLOD...). Therefore I wasn't too sure of the PS4s quality. Atleast Microsoft seems to have managed to get the Xbox 360 slim working without mayor problems. The main problem with the PS4 seems to be that it was rushed into the market (again) and Sony couldn't deliver the demand that the market wanted. So the production companies in China seem to have forced students to work for them during their summer breaks, otherwise those students wouldn't have been allowed to return to university (for reference see here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ayStation-4-sweatshop-theyll-fail-course.html first article I found on google about this), and some students claim that they have sabotaged the PS4 systems they had to work on. After I found out that the PS4 was basically built by slave workers I decided not to get one.
PC's have issues as well whether it's gpu or cpu or whatever, marrying all that stuff together not to mention the thousands of small resistors, capacitors & diodes etc & gawd know's what else its a wonder anything works.I wait with fearful trepidation every time i turn on my jtag 360,i don't have that same feeling with my original xbox that beast just seems to work its v1.4 i guess i got lucky, mind you it is built on pc architecture perhaps that's the problem with consoles that they aren't something about the cpu & how its made n stuff, nup not going to go the way of consoles again no matter how much i want to play halo 2 anniv.Be better to wait a couple or more version releases of those current consoles to see if they get the bugs worked out
The problem is that today's hardware is produced cheap and crappy. An N64 you could throw out of the window from 2nd floor, it still worked. If you drop an Xbox 360 or PS3 from a sideboard it's destroyed. If I were to design a gaming console I'd build one with cartridges again, make these cartridges flash-based and they're not much more expensive than a BluRay-disk. Also you would eliminate one heat-source and so far the only cartridge-based console with mayor problems I know of was the European version of the NES (Famicom for US/Asia) because of a design flaw. The pin connectors wear out.
Have had my XboxOne since Launch day and had no issues. Same as my PS4. I think anything can have issues. I could go on about some new vehicles I have driven lol. Kidding aside, It's always unfortunate and a hassle going through the RMA process etc. but usually works out fine, or at least any consoles I have sent back in the past. Nintendo I sent one DS-Lite back twice even. But they were quick about it.
Ok I can shed some money saving lights on you if you want to take a ebay risk... Ever see those broken xbox one consoles on ebay where they say they won't read disks??? Well guess what most of them do read disks you have to have xbox live gold in order for the blu-ray and music playback of the console to function when not connected to the internet or xbox live you will receive a error code saying it can't communicate with xbox live. testers who test these decks without xbox live place these units on ebay listing them as defective and not working i have purchased 46 and given them to my friends and family as gifts all functional never had to take a console apart. its funny when people think there stuff is broken And a warning if your thinking about a xbox one you need xbox live because games like dead rising 3 won't play without being signed into xbox live .
I have always been connected to the internet, so didn't know that either. I usually always have Xbox Live as well. Might have been a month or so I didn't have it. It is funny though as you as say, when people think their stuff is broken and sell it cheap. That's how I bought my B/C PS3. They guy didn't even know it was Backwards Compatible.
Nearly invested in a xbox one myself due to not getting a look in with the one upstairs.Saw one on Gumtree locally, however after trying to ask as many questions as to what was wrong with the console the seller just came clean and told me it was not worth the investment. She,yes She had 2 sons who continually fought over the console so one day it sent her so much into a rage the console was ripped out of their bedroom and she launched it down the stairs.Fearing it still had a few last breaths coming out of its vents for good measure she ran down after it and proceeded to jump up and down on it murdering the console once and for all.As mentioned before they don't make things that strong any more but i highly doubt that a master system or similar would of taken such punishment either! The £60 price tag was too good to be true i guess.
I once had an N64 that was partially run over by a car. The housing was broken, of course, but the console still worked.
How in gods name did a console end up on the road? Ridge racer was a good game but never did i play on a roadside to get the full experience lol.
Remember having a spectrum 48k bought for me for Christmas.Child rage was the norm i think with games like chuckie egg and manic miner,so a lot of tantrums were taken out on the poor little black rubbery thing. It was great that all the circuitry still worked but you could replace the membrane and keyboard yourself after button bashing the life out of it.I do remember buying a connector for the from so i could use a joystick. If the computer moved the unit would shift and restart the machine.I certainly went through a lot of black insulation tape to hold it in place so i could reach the next level of R-Type.Think i should of changed the thread to "How old are we?"
