Microsoft warns you might not get Windows updates if you're not using IE 11

MICROSOFT HAS revealed that customers who for one reason or another want to carry on using Internet Explorer (IE) instead of its recent successor, Microsoft Edge, must update IE11 in the next couple of months or they may find themselves blocked from other aspects of Windows.

The firm said in a statement: "In addition to better support for modern web standards, improved performance, increased security and greater reliability, migrating to IE 11 also helps unlock upgrades to Windows 10, Office 365 and the latest Windows devices."

In other words, if you're using an old version of IE, you might find yourself unable to get Threshold 2 (Windows 10 November Update), or even some potentially vital security patches.
