would like to know is i have a cd of Microsoft Windows Vista that came with my pc can i install it on my other pc and laptop ? will Microsoft do some thing to me ?
Most likely the CD/DVD that came with your computer is a restore disc as opposed to a full Windows Vista installation disc. If it's a restore disc, it won't work on a different model of computer/laptop. For arguments sake, let's say that you do have an actual Vista install disc. You can install it on another computer, but you'll need a valid license key. Since the license key that came with your computer is currently being used, it will fail activation if you try it on another computer/laptop. The short answer to your question is, no, you cannot legally install Vista on another computer. There's on exception, if you have a retail version of Vista, you can transfer it to another computer. When you transfer the license to a new computer, you must remove it from the old computer. You can read about it here. http://arstechnica.com/business/news/2006/11/8140.ars
so give it a shot and see what happens.worst case scenario is you will have to remove i from the second computer.
Well you could always do it with windows xp I mean they will ask you what happened to your other copy when you phone it in but things happen maybe your drive fried who know catch my drift. It wont happen for vista it will just be a waste of time. Good Luck
