If you make a back up copy of mc3, and load it the back up with hd advance will the music play then? Or do u have to use swap magic?

I'm not sure if i'm right, or wrong.. but i'm leaning towards the game not working due to versions of PS2... now I bought the game.. unlike some people :p hehe, but it's not working AT ALL on my PS2...
umm version 35001?? I thought it was a bad game so I had it replaced, and still no go.. always just gets stuck at the menu.. or right after the scrolling text comes up saying the online thing blabal..
I took the game over to a friend's house who has a V7 PS2 I think.. and the game worked fine...

what DOESN'T make sence is why would rockstar not care about old PS2 models?? I bought my PS2 when it first came out.. but I didn't think that some games wouldn't work on it later on??
this is the ONLY game i've had problems with.. I also tried backing up the game using DVD decryptor.. and I keep getting errors trying to extract sectors.. how did you guys do it?.. or did no one here actually buy the game ?

Sniper78 if you load MC3 DUB on hard drive with HD Advance, original or back-up, the music won't play. I'm waiting for the patch. Until then you would have to use SM disc.

Vexer, if you're getting errors trying to extract sectors with DVD Decrypt. then that disc is dirty or damaged. I've got a old school PS2 too. I have to use high quality DVD-r media only.

hmm.. I did do it using DVD decrypt on both MCD DVD's.. the original and the second original I had replaced when the first wouldn't work, which both wouldn't work on my PS2..

do you think it's just bad luck that I got two bad discs ?? heh
I made sure the PS2 still works :p I use it all the time, I played other games and it works smooth..

damn, and MCD is a good game too :(

Are you saying that the original copy of MC3 won't play on your PS2? And Dvd Decrypter won't work on it either?

Yea, DVD Decryptor wont back up the original game, saying error extracting sectors even fi I retry..
and the game gets stuck on the menu on my PS2...

now I returned the original game, and I had it replaced by my local futureshop, and still the same problem....
so unless I have some bad luck and I have two bad copies of the game.. maybe rockstar tried to make some new anti-priacy thing that isn't that well lol

Hmm.. that's strange. This is the US version we're talking about, I assume. I got the original copy here. I'm gonna use Dvd decrypter and I'll tell you the results.

yep, USA version, bought it from Futureshop shere in halifax, nova scotia..

both versions in fact.. maybe i'll go back today and tell them both didn't work.. or bring my PS2 or something I dont' know..
or maybe just give up anyawy haha

I also tried backing the game up using Alcohol 120%.. same thing.. read errors.. on both DVD's..

when I burn DVD's I use Memorex DVD-r for PS2 games, they've worked for all my other back up games just fine using swap disc 3.0 DVD

    This is creeping me out.
THIRD ORIGINAL copy i've bought (returned the last two) and I still can't back it up!!!
what kind of protection is on this?.. however I can't even play it on my PS2.. I have an old 35001...

It's also creeping me out because some have trouble with HD advance and some don't... while some ppl with the same model as my PS2 can paly it, while I can't... any ideas boys??

i didn't have to rebuilt it or anything I just use Nero 6 put the game in my DVD ROM the put blank HP 8x DVD+R in and choose Copy DVD then choose 4x in the speed thing. the click burn. It worked like the original i have which is really scratch now. Nero worked for everygame i back up perfectly. The only game doesn't work is NBA street 3. You guy should try Nero 6.

I tried to make a backup of MC3DE. The load-times are really good, there's only 1 problem. The game doesn't show any colours!! The original works perfectly!

    Anyone know a solution?

    RIGHT!
    LISTEN
to anyone who has any problems backing up this game, then forget all the DVD decypters and the alcohol 120%, use NERO
    OPEN nero express
    click the more tab
    and click save tracks
    then
change the format from .NRG to and .ISO
    and choose the destination
then close down express and re-open the burn image to disc option and it works everytime
