Hi all. I recently decided to mod my gamecube and after some research i have decided to go for the qoob pro chip and a NEC 3540 Burner. The only issue I now have is with the media. Eventually I will purchase a cube case to play full size dvd-r but i wanted to experiment with the mini dvd's first. Ritek G04 seems to be the media of choice but as i live in the uk I am finding this very difficult to get hold of. Any Brits out there care to give me any suggestions as to an alternative 8cm media> It would be much appreciated. A link would be fantastic. Also another noob question. Does a disc of any size need a dye to play cube back-ups or do the silver discs work as well?
The trick is to experiment with different media, try finding an online store which will sell you the Ritek G04 and ship to the UK, otherwise do as some people do and play topless (cube top i mean, lol) and use DVD-R media, I personnaly use Maxell and Fujifilm dvd-r's and have had few problems
