Few months ago I have bought a Samsung Mini DVD Camcorder type: VP-DC171 Camcorder has no USB to PC connection possibilities, other than via PC TV video card, which I do not have on my PC. It only has a triple red –yellow – white audio/video connection to connect it to the TV. Along with camcorder I have bought a pair of Mini Verbatim DVD-R discs. In the user manual there are following characteristics: Video signal PAL Recording Quality XP (about 9Mbps), SP (about 6Mbps), LP (about 3Mbps) – I have used SP mode. Picture Compression format MPEG-2 When I shoot some material and finalize it, I can play that same material without any problems on my TV. But when I put a Mini DVD-R to my PC it becomes invisible! Physically it is there – I can see an icon that PC DVD is loaded, and when I do a right click mouse to properties card, there is a picture showing that a disc is full and finalized. But again: None of the following programs does not see the disc (they only see a blank space at the F: drive-DVD drive): 1. Total Commander 2.Windows commander 3.Daemon tools lite 4.AVS DVD Player 5.G Spot 6.Kate`s video converter 7. Power DVD 8.DVD Decrypter –can see physically the disc, but not the files inside it. I have downloaded a driver for that gamma of models directly from manufacturer’s website, and installed them. My DVD drive model is Pioneer 111 .It does not have a newer firmware that that which are already inside it. My question is: Is there are any possibility to make a material on Mini DVD visible in my PC without TV video card , and what is the appropriate program ( freeware by any chance ) to convert that material to some type of file that could be visible to my PC without any problems ( avi , wmw , …………) ? Thankfully Alex
You should be able to see the files with Windows Explorer or My Computer. If you can't, there may be a problem with the disc. Does this happen with all discs? Also, if you want any quality at all, out of those miniDVD's, record at the XP quality, not SP.
Prevoiously I had one recorded Mini DVD-RW disc in SP mode also , but with same accidents happening ........... I will try XP mode to see if that would resolve the problem. Thanks.
