So I just got raid card because I want to do RAID 6 and set up 4 1.5TB drives.

I got this RAID card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816115063

because it was a good deal and was even cheapter than the 4 port SATA cards. I ordered a mini-sas to sata x4 adapter but I am just wondering if there is a hybrid mini-sas to sata with a sas cable. I mean everything is either mini-sas to sata x4 or mini-sas to sas x4. I am just wondering because now I am kind of wanting a SAS drive because they are about the same price as the veliciraptor with like 50% more speed. I could just get a splitter as no sata drive uses that much of a lane (especially a 1.5TB drive).

You might consider a SAS expander; most of them use SATA or SAS for the back ports, but will allow you to connect a mix of drives inside the unit.
