what is the minimum computer spec reqd for a cd-rewriter? I'm thinking of buying an Artec 52x24x48 for my 'lowly' 233MHz PC,and am wondering if this is feasible? PLEASE HELP - I'M A NEWBIE Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Ronnie[/small]
The specs should be written on the burner's box. Anyway, I assume the PC is powerful enough, just avoid multitasking when you burn and all should be OK... I would just check the System that is needed (some burners are not supported in Win95, some others do not run or WinXP...). It's just a problem of drivers. You can test how much CPU is needed to burn lately, using some disgnostic software (Like some utilities in Nero). Ah, I searched on the net and found the following info for a VERY SIMILAR Artec model (52x24x48 seems not to exist. I found this or 48x12x48). If those suit you, your model's will, too. ======================================================================== Product Information Artec 52x24x52 CDRW IDE WRR-52x Product features include super burning speed, high read ability, high capability, low noise, low interference Manufacturer ARTEC Model WRR-52x ROM Type CDRW Native Speeds 52x24x52 Maximum Speeds 52x24x52 Bus Type EIDE Access Time 100ms Rotation Speeds Transfer Rates 7800 kb/s.
