Was playing around today with an old HD, it's a 6.4Gb Fujitsu, set it up with Xboxhdm including the correct eeprom for the xbox and everything sailed through smoothly. However, on boot I get "Error 9". I have tried it on cable select as well as master.

Do I have to re-use xboxhdm with the different jumper setting perhaps?

Anyway, my point is, is there a minimum size that I can use as an Xbox HD?

I've tried old PC 6.4GB HD's and they work fine. I think they were Maxtors and Seagates. I did try a 3+GB and it did not work. I simply plugged the PC drive into a Duox2 chipped box with AID in the DVD drive and the first thing it askes was to format the drive. It automatically did this as well as partition the drive and AID booted up and was ready to install whatever I wanted. Having a couple of spare unlocked and loaded drives are good for diagnostics and testing. Some hard drives do not support locking, but will work perfectly well with a hard modded box so long as you don't need to get onto XBL.

Awesome, cheers! I think I worked out why they weren't working anyway, the eeprom I was locking it with were the virtual eeproms! I got the proper one via the Splinter Cell exploit!
