i just noticed something very wierd. i bought my DVD-R drive last week and have been using it successfully.......but it is supposed to be a "Mirror DVD-R/RAM" drive, but my computer thinks it's a "MATSHITA DVD-RAM LF-D310"

it's still working, but should i update the driver to the mirror one or something????

is this just windows xp being silly or what.

by the way, it didn't come with any drivers, only the software cd (VOB instant cd/dvd 6.5).

i was thinking that perhaps my pc didn't have the mirror drivers, so it used the next most compatible or sonmething........anyway, what should i do???

You will sometimes see Panasonic drives as Matshita/matsushita as well. This is because Panasonic and the mentioned 2 are the same company. If you buy any of the three brands you are virtually assured the quality of a Panasonic.
