There are many things that can cause an audio sync problem. To try to help, I would like some more information from you. What software did you use to re-encode your MPG video into DivX. What audio coded did you use when you re-encoded. One solution that might work is to separate the audio to a wav file, then re-encode the video with audio set to a codec with a constant bitrate (using your new wav file as the audio source). To be more helpful, I would like to know exactly how you converted your MPG file to DivX. Mainly, what software you used, and what you did.
I'm having the same problem. I used Auto GK. Audio is way off from the video. Any help is appreciated.
A simple way would be to try encode with another program (e.g. VSO, DVDSanta) first: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm Good luck!
