First off I assume you are reffering to the original HDD that came with the xbox correct? If this is the case, there are ways to gain access to the leftover space, but I would recommend upgrading the HD or trim off the un-needed H2 files like other languages and all the LIve content. Second, why would you turn off the X, Y and Z partitions!!!! The xbox needs that space to cache game files it frequently uses. Like I said before, just look into obtaining a used 10 or 20 gig that a friend might have spare laying around and upgrade. You'll be happy you did. I have a 120gig in mine and I have just finished de-sodering the RAM it cam with and sodered in a 128! Freekin Sweet!!
ive got a seagate 500 gig hjd and a seagate 30 gig,id like to use these but whenever i use xbox hdm it doesnt work.i cant lock with the eeprom , i did everything right so dont ask.and i cant get a modchip.as for the xyz partions i dindnt mean to say i tuirned themm ,off.there still on.witch halo files do i delete and how much memory will i save?
First off, depending which version of XBOXHDM you are using, you may need to put the 3 eeprom files on a seperate media (floppy). Next, I would use the copy HD method. It may take about 3 hours to complete, but the results are worth it; that is depending on the version used. I always put the eeprom on a diskette and use the hd copy feature and I have never had a problem. And also, once you finish copying the HDD, you will need to go back into XBOXHDM and activate the f: partition. Back on to things, you can delete the folders which contain any language file other than english. Search thru the media file and I;m pretty sure you can delete the LIVE files. You will trim off enough space to fit it onto a DVD5 or basic 4.7gig dvd. the actuall size should be about 4.3gig.
I already have a pre-compiled xboxhdm that you can use. All you will have to add if you want to is the C, E folders, and the eeprom info to it. Then just burn it and go. The link for it is in the Mods/Accomplishments section of my Xlink Clan forum i think. http://born2kill.s2.bizhat.com Hope this helps you! If you need further help re-post here.
