Hi Guys...really need some help here!!.Im backing up my dvd collection most of which have been backed up really well using dvd decrypter/dvd2one/nero...except a few have no sound.Im using stream processing and choosing either 2 or 6 channel sound in english.Am i missing something??this is happenning on both 5 and 9 discs. thanks
if im lucky i only get the directors commentry....when i play through powerdvd i check the info and there is definately no audio listed.its only happened on two discs, indecent proposal and spiderman, but ive processed them EXACTLY the same as others that have worked perfectly.Tis driving me mad.Tried ripping with smartripper but with the same result.any ideas??please!
Spiderman is known to give issues on audio...for example the directors commentary. There are at least 4 different actor/director commentaries on Spiderman - D'oh ! My method: DVD Decrypter (Movie-only) in IFO Mode or Smartripper in FILE Mode DVD2One (take all audio if need be but I chose only top option which was AC3 6CH) Nero 5.5.10.20 [DVD-Video] in UDF Mode hope this helps
thanks herb...ill try that. But are you using streaming on decrypter?, and how do i select udf mode in nero? sorry to be a pain!!
No I dont stream , I rip / unencrypt VOB BUP IFO files mate. In Decrypter that is MODE tab then IFO read or alternatively you can run Smartripper and hit FILE button and choose the main movie IFO to go with the VOB's that are pre-selected. In Nero go to options/properties [cant remember which now] and selct UDF only to start & if you encounter playback problems on stand alone machine maybe try UDF/IFO
Yup, Indecent Proposal......spent many a night banging head against wall over that one!! Found success when I ripped the guts out intact with dvd decrypter, then Using dvd shrink in reauthor mode, cropped the start and end to remove all the credits etc therefore allowing enough space for 6ch audio with a level 6 compressionon the video. Burnt the resulting file using nero.....np The 2ch on the main movie appears to relate to the directors commentry. That worked fine for me, i guess you could also get the same results using dvd2one....good luck, I hope this helps you. Cheers, Brento.
