I've had my EX1000SL unplugged for a few days. When I put it back in today I had lost a lot of the free (i.e. non-subscription) channels.

For example, I'm getting RTE1 OK but RTE2 is showing as scrambled channel and BBC1 just sits forever with "Please Wait, code being updated".

I'm on NTHell cable in Dublin 18.

    Apologies for caps in title!

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

No channels on NTL(upc) are free channels, AFAIK the only ones that had no encryption were rte1 and setanta ireland

Damn them. I can't believe they'd encrypt the non-premium channels too!

The NTL Pace box is crap, really slow, EPG takes forever, can't set timers for everyday. It's a real pain living with it!

Might have to look at MVision HD200 Combo on Freesat!

Any chance we might get a fix like the Starview USB for non-premium channels?

mvison hd 200 combo is now €209 on satellitetv.ie seems like the only option untill we get an update for al our receivers, remember to scan your aerial first with the combo unit and only the sat channels second, that wa you get RTE1,RTE2,TV3,TG4 in the first 4 positions , position 5 may get taken by RTE networks channel

    Thanks for the tip.

However, I see that there's also a NAG2 fix for the Digivox XL.

I'm starting to hope now that we might get fixes for all our boxes!

That fix is for the Digivox XL USB and not the standard one,

They are not going to fix the older boxs, have a look the other threads on here, its been discussed and covered

The point I'm making is that the technology to crack the NAG2 now exists. It is probably not very difficult to port the "fix" from one box to another. The Eurovox EX1000SL is a current model and probably has a lot of common software with other top sellers like the EX5000 and even the earlier models. So, it may be as simple as replacing the same block of code on each model with a new block of NAG2 cracking code, and releasing the firmware!

But they havent or can't thats the thing, depending on the nodel of box firmware is different, thats why the USB models of the SV and Digivox got fixed as its the same factory.

But are Eurovox going to just sit back and let Kryptview, Starview and Digivox take all their sales? Especially as the NAG2 is likely to be rolled out in the UK following its success(!) here. Anyone in the UK would be mad to buy a Eurovox now even though it still works over there.

I'll still dream on that a fix for the eurovox will appear just before the new Premiership season kicks off (though as a West Brom fan I haven't much to look forward to, other than matches against the likes of Scunthorpe and Doncaster).

Obviously mate as they havent released a fix for anything to date, its either they cant fix it or wont, one or the other, some one else firmware wont be the same as theirs, they may do the same thing in the end,

the UK wont be going the same route as Ireland either, they will be going to a different encryption than Nagra,
