Has anyone any idea why a dvd decrypted file should burn to a dvd and not show the menus (soundtrack options - chapter select etc.)

I have backed up a couple of my dvds and both of them have the menus in the files after ripping, but they do not appear afterwards on the burned media.

I have selected all the files when sourcing them for burning, but cannot get them to work when playing them back.

    Am I missing something obvious?

You mentioned Nero Recode, but I'm not sure you're doing it right. To burn an entire dvd with Recode, you should be doing something like this:

Run Recode, click 'copy entire dvd to dvd', 'import dvd', then go highlight the the video_ts folder of the movie, and follow from there.

This way you should have menus, chapters, and everything copied.

    Happy DVD burning!

    Thanks for that scf_au

I did try the copy entire dvd option but it missed a soundtrack off one of the trailers, so I tried one of the other options

Not sure why all the titles/menus would appear if it would not be burning them

I will give it another try tonight to confirm exactly which option I used - possibly it was the burn movie only - but again, I would have thought the other menus would not show when loaded in prior to burning

Have tried DL and SL, + and - flavours of disks, and my stock is starting to get low, as I thought it may be when I have tried to shrink the files using nero recode 2 (the DL R+ are still quite expensive so I only tested the burn on one of these)

I tried dvd decrypter to burn which worked fine, so I know it is not the ripped files that caused the problem, but I am not sure if this utility transfers Dolby 5.1 which Nero apparently can handle with the plugin

Anyhow, as said earlier, I will persevere later on and hopefully resolve before I run out of media

You could also try use Shrink to read the disc, then burn with Nero.
