Hi.. I have 256 memory already installed (pc2100) and i have just purchased 512 memory (pc2700). My question is this, can i run 512 (pc2700) and 256 (pc2100) together???And if yes what speed will it run at??? thankz
If you have an Athlon based machine you might have to lock the bus speed in the BIOS to prevent blue screen errors in Windows. Intel based motherboards are a little more forgiving but the same precautions should be taken.

You will have to lock it so the bus runs at a speed appropriate for PC2100 otherwise you will likely get many annoying system crashes. Check your hardware vendor for specifics on your motherboard's system BIOS and its settings.
