    thanks.

i'm getting problems with mkvextractgui though...

first it said that mkvextract.exe and/or mkvmerge.exe were not in the same folder so i downloaded the Wizard which fixed that problem...

with the wizard i choose my mkv file with the video, audio and sub streams but when i get to the extraction process i get the error message: "C:\Documents and Settings\NAME\Desktop\Wizard\\mkveX.bat doesn't exist." but this .bat file is created after this error message. also i kno there is no file path "\\" so my question is what do i do?

mkvextractgui as the name implies is just a GUI. It requires mkvextract from mkvtoolnix. I would suggest that you download the full package.

As for mkvextract wizard. I am not sure, but if it create the bat, then you should be able to just run it.

Decent chance that your mkv doesn't containt DivX/XviD video or even avi compatible video though.

and after you get the mkvtoolnix installed...place the mkvextractorGUI in it's folder.
And you will be able to use mkvmergeGUI..to view the contents of the MKV.
