ok so heres the deal, i've literally used every converting program there is that supports MKV. I have yet to come across one that successfully will take for instance... SpiderMan.mkv (1280x720) and convert it to the same resolution. Every program wants to change the resolution to 720X480 which is serious quality loss. and i know it does this because stand alone dvd players recognize this format. Well there are plenty Blu Ray / Hd-dvd players out now that will support 1920x1080 and 1280x720. I know there has to be a program out there that exists that can convert these MKVS into dvd format without changing the resolution...Any input would be much appreciated thanks!

It doesn't support MKV as a container, or the codec used to encode your video? If you just change the container to AVI, without altering the video/audio, would that be suppotred then?
