MKV Playback How to optomise playback?

    I have a p4 3.02 Pentium
    2 gig ram
    hd3850 agp graphcis card

    When i try and play Mkv files it really skippy? does any one know a good guide for a player and also how to set up all the features ( like post processing for example? )

    Been searching everywhere and just can't fidn anything

    Check to see if the problem is due to the CPU being maxed out.
    Play the video and check the process tab of Task Manager.
    Click on CPU column to sort and see if the media player and/or
    other processes are using all the CPU.


    Does your video card support DVXA ? See this article about
    using MPC HC (media player classic - home cinema)

    Yes my card does support DVXA.
