I have a movie file that's says it's a Matroska file and I want to burn it to DVD to play it in a DVD player instead of just playing the file on my PC. How do I convert this into files that I can burn onto DVD that will playback in a DVD player?

You can use ConvertXtoDVD, the trial version leaves a watermark on the video, but it's simple to use - just drag the .mkv file onto the window.
ConvertX will optionally burn the DVD.

FAVC is freeware. It does the same job but requires some input from the user.
If you have 'IMGBurn' installed, then FAVC will optionally burn the DVD.
Here's a tutorial for converting mkv using FAVC..

    Thanks....everything worked perfectly.

I used converxtodvd and converted the files and got a folder of video_ts with the files in it and yes it gave me the option to burn but the dvd plays perfectly.
