is there a guide for virtualdubmod? when i try to load the MKV file is says there are errors 1. MKV- the video may have a variable framrate. 2. couldn't lacoate a decompressor for format "YYYYY" (unknown)
use google to see if u can find a codec for it, unfortauntely i have never before tried to convert a MKV file to anything, in fact, id doubt i ever had one on my HDD
this is the first i've ever had and it's really pissing me off. would this be easier to convert it to MPEG
i've downloaded some codec packs. is there a way i can see if i've got the right codecs. i'm really new to all of this video stuff as u can probably tell.
Id search for them mate before ever installing a codec pack. codec packs can cause a lot of playback and encoding troubles for usually movie files!
i searched for MKV codecs on google and it came up with some sites with MKV codec packs. so i think i have the right codecs
it seems you didn't install the handler ? click the aux setup and install handler if you didn't. i could change it into avi in a magick couple of second. codec pack is evil
To Conny119 - Hi you said in a post around 14th July that you managed to convert an mkv to mpeg with TmpGenc. Is that correct, if so you must be a miracle worker and I would be soooo grateful if you could tell me how you did it. I have had a wretched mkv file, around 608MB, and have done just about everything with it, including almost wrecking my pc. In the end I burned it to a cd rw and have kept it in the hopes that one day I can do something with it
All i did was install lazy man's MKV codec pack http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/2/2/11-2-2-79.shtml sometimes TMPGEnc doesn't accept them but just try agian and it'll load it.
my bad, when i said it will eat anything, it will. i never encounter such videos, as i don't download, on a narrowband. but i'll look into it. i believe you _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Codec packs are evil[/small]
