Hi I was just wandering.I have c****s mmds digital coming to one room with an analog service coming from the same ariel to another. A special splitter that allows power to be sent from the digital room but not the analog room is in place outside the house. If i replace this with a regular splitter will I then be able to recieve a signal sufficient to power digital boxes such as eurovox tx in both rooms?

I don't fully understand your question.
You get already a signal in both rooms. Why do you want to change anything?
The signal delivered from the aerial include both analogue and digital. The receiver/tuner take that part he is able to handle.

my c****s digital box does not work in the second room. I think this is because the splitter does not allow a powered signal to travel to the analogue box. maybe the 18V from the power supply would damage the old analogue box. So my thinking is that a regular splitter might work. thanks for your response. new to all this, any help appreciated

Ok I reversed the cables and got a signal in the other room. the voltage was the problem. so now I just need to know if one chorus mmds ariel is sufficient to power 2 eurovox tx boxes, and if you can watch different programmes in each room. Ps. does anyone know if there is an idiots guide to this stuff I can find anywhere on the net?

I would suggest that you split the signal after the power supply. I know this may not be convenient but you could try it out and prove that it will work and then decide how you may actually run cables.

The power supply feed the aerial not a box. If the aerial get power the delivered signal will be splitted at your current splitter. At one leg the splitter block power to prevent damage at the connected box and at the other side the power inserter block power for the connected box behind.
If you pull the plug for the power inserter or connect it to the wrong leg the aerial get no power and is not working.

The aerial need only one working power source. Its your problem how you split the delivered signal.

    Yes Definate !!

but set up did take some time as the ariel power supply went to a click on plate on the back of an old Mds box -

I set 2 up in a house with one power supply one workedright away but i ran into probs with the power supply.

it took a little time but it worked - Also there are seperate boosters you can buy i tried these but i found them useless best to use your existing power supply.

by the way this was in north cork on Korus.
