I have my iphone unlocked and jailbroken and I use T-Mobile. I haven't been able to send or get picture messages, I know AT&T will have it avail. later this month but that shouldn't have anything to do with T-Mobile and my ability to get picture messages.

edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is 10 lines of text.
    1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.

take it to the t-mobile store and ask them.

Make sure you have the latest firmware.

I can't upgrade to 3.1 because my phone wouldnt be jailbroken and I would lose the ability to use t-mobile. Would t-mobile look at it since it's an iphone?

    You can try.

A friend of mine would bring his iphone into the store. I don't know what all he would need done, but what's the worst that'll happen?

if its unlocked and jailbroke, why not get one of the million apps to send mms's from. picfree is a good one.

you don't need 3.1.2 but if your on a 2g iphone you will need to download a patch to enable mms also in some cases you wont have the ability to turn on mms until you enter the settings under settings/general/network/cellular data network. I'm not sure why but it doesn't ever work the same on two phones. If you dont see a spot on the cellular data network section let me no and ill see what i can find.
