What type of wireless card (dongle) does it have? If it shows up on your laptop as a network connection then all you would need to do is bridge it with your LAN connection. Then have a network cable from your PS3 to Laptop. Might need to set up static IP addresses for each device to stop any problems, but it should work.

EDIT: As for speed, what type of data plan are you on?

It should, theoretically, be fast enough. What are the speeds of the connection you are hoping to get?

That should easily be enough. The one other thing is ping time, but that cant really be measured unless you actually have the connection.

Dont worry about it. It isn't really that relevant anyway, and shouldn't cause you any problems.
