I believe i may have fried my brand new mobo when i touched the chipset with a magnetic screwdriver? Is this possible? I mean will a chipset fry if a magnet touches it? Cuz it was workin untill i pried a latch off my fan and the screwdriver touched the chipset.

won't fry a board with magnetisim. was the board powered up or did you disconnect the power cord from tower? check for damaged or missing components were screwdriver touched board especially traces.
