Custom FW Extender. You can find it on Maxconsole. That, or you can use screenshotbmp.prx and set it thru the seplugins folder.

Yes, there is. Dark_AleX programmed a voice recogniser and it's SICK. You have to record your voice so it matches the voice tone to initiate it, but then you can tell your PSP what to do! You can say "Load PSP Filer" and it will load that particular homebrew. You can say "Load GTA:VCS" and it will play the Iso. :D Sickest stuff yet!*

    *This was an elaborate lie.

Dude w/ the question about the hex editor: No. Just d/l one and familiarize yourself w/ it. That's what we've all had to do. It's kinda easy once you get it down, but you have to have an objective. It's not the kind of thing you can just poke around with and learn. You have to have a specific purpose when you use a hex editor so you know what you're looking for, else it will be a bunch of jumbled letters and the like.

Btw - how you doing, hodgins? I hope everything is well, mate! :D

if ihave the svccapture in the seplugins folder, and i want to add the irsmp3 plugin too, what do i do about the vsh.txt? they both need the vsh.txt but only one can stay? this is puzzling. what do i do?

besides swapping them in and out all the time.. what do i do?

It's not the background, mate. I think it's the sytem_plugin.rco. I was helping a mate install a few components of the bogus FW on his PSP and everything was working fine. Then, I had him install system_plugin.rco and some other file and then it started doing that exact same thing. (Loading the game w/ no gameboot, only sound). So the problem lies within one of those two files, but I honestly think it's the system_plugin.rco.

Thing is, these are FW v1.00 files, so I think the PSP is getting confused w/ the files it's running. It's thinking, "Hey, I'm a 3.03 OE-C PSP, but I have v1.00 files; How am I supposed to act?" So it's acting funky, more like a v1.00. It's too bad. But it has nothing to do w/ the backgrounds.

just to let you all no. i restored my psps fash0 folder. so everything was original, and voila! the gameboot works again. the only files i flashed, are :
    topmenu_plugin.rco
    system_plugin_bg.rco
    system_plugin_fg.rco
    ltn0.pgf
    01-12.bmp

so it is one of them causing the problem. no system_plugin.rco guano. just thort i would let yous know :).

I would say it was your system_plugin_bg.rco then. Maybe. Idk, but I know it's one of those files. Also for your seplugins folder, just add another line to the .txt file. You can have as many lines as you want on each .txt document. So try that and let me know how you get on.

Just for test purposes, why don't you flash each one until the problem shows up. After you flash each one individually, back out and test it.

    It comes down to this:

    Your Custom Wallpapers

    *or*

    Sick a55 Azura effects

    You choose.

    There's no way around it.

Personally, I don't have any problem whatsoever sticking w/ the monthly coloured backgrounds b/c there are some VERY nice colours. Right now, I'm still w/the purple Azura and Blueberry coloured background. It's working out fine for me.
